About Bonnie Mucklow, Licensed Therapist in Greenwood Village

Bonnie Mucklow, LMFT, LPC and Colorado Addictions Counselor (CAC III) who has provided therapy for individuals, children and families for more than 30 years. She believes that emotions provide richness and meaning to our lives. Yet, cognitive behavioral therapy helps tame those emotions so that we respect them in ourselves, manage depression and anxiety and find positive and effective ways of thinking about all sorts of life situations.

Bonnie specializes in family therapy to address communication problems and behaviors that impact the whole family. She is both a clinical member of American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Bonnie is past President of the Colorado Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. During her term of office, the Colorado Legislature declared The Year of the Family through the efforts of CAMFT.

Bonnie has post graduate training in a number of areas including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. She keeps up to date with treatment approaches to address addiction but passionately believes that the most effective treatment for addictions is family treatment. Family Treatment with addictions increases the likelihood that persons will complete a treatment program, increases compliance with treatment and improves family functioning.

Bonnie serves as a military family life consultant to the Department of Defense for servicemen and their families returning from deployment. Bonnie speaks to groups and facilitates workshops. She was a presenter on Addictions and Family Treatment at the Sacramento conference for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Texas Behavioral Health Conference in Austin, Texas.
